We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented team member to support our bookkeeping and administrative operations across both Southern Forestry Consultants and Wiregrass Ecological Associates. This role is essential in helping maintain accurate financial records, ensure smooth day-to-day office functions, and support our field teams.
The ideal candidate will need to have a basic understanding of bookkeeping or office administration and be eager to learn industry-specific processes. This position will work closely with leadership and serve as a key support role, assisting with accounts receivables, deposits, and auditing timber sales while also helping manage certifications and administrative needs for our foresters.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong organization, attention to detail, and a willingness to step in whenever needed to keep operations running efficiently.
Salary is based on experience.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Wiregrass Ecological team on certifications, new entity setup, and timber sale processes.
- Review and assist with auditing timber sales for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicating with foresters and supporting their administrative and operational needs.
- Managing and organizing office records, files, and reports.
- Support bookkeeping tasks and work alongside the company Business Administrator.
- Providing general office and team support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel required.
- Experience with accounts receivable, deposits, and general bookkeeping.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to learn industry-specific processes (timber sales, certifications, etc.).
- Strong communication skills when for working with foresters, clients and team members.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
